I tend to love super-spicy foods, so take this description with a grain of salt: Salsacado has a slight bite to it.
Each 16 oz. jar only contains 1/3 of one jalapeno pepper, which isn't very hot, and a very slight amount of cayenne pepper and habanero sauce.
I make each batch of salsa with fresh ingredients in my home. And in case that's not "homemade" enough for ya', I also make the labels on the jars!
I'm not into the raw food diet, but I have friends who are and they have assured me that this salsa is indeed raw.
Come on! Do you really need me to tell you how to eat salsa? I didn't think so. :)
I prefer enjoying salsa with white corn tortilla chips, but I've also been known to eat salsa on omelettes, on toasted bread (poor-man's bruschetta), on burgers, and even by itself!
Our salsa is made with fresh ingredients and put in jars instantly. We do not cook the salsa, so it will last about 10 days to 2 weeks if refrigerated and unopened.
Payment
They are nice jars indeed. You bought the salsa; it comes in a jar; you own the jar. If you return the jar to me, however, I'll give you a US$1.00 discount off your next salsa purchase.
I accept PayPal payments, which means you can transfer money to me through PayPal from your bank account, your credit cards, etc. I also accept cash in US Federal Reserve Notes (commonly referred to as "dollars" or "money"). I prefer silver (.999 fine).
Typically, I'll charge US$5.00 per 16oz jar of salsa. If you want to buy a number of jars, contact me and maybe we can work out a deal. If you pay with silver, I'll price it so that paying with silver equates to a discount compared to paying with US$.
When you place your order, choose the payment type (if you choose "other," please be sure to explain how you want to pay in the "order instructions" section). Depending on how you choose to receive your salsa, I can take payment from you when I deliver it or via PayPal or mail before I ship it to you.
General
Salsacado has avocado in it, but it's not quacamole and it's not just salsa. "Salsacado" is a made-up contraction of "salsa" and "avocado.
- You can pay for me ship your jar(s) of salsa to you, but you'll probably want expedited shipping, which may be expensive (I do not intend to make a profit from shipping, but I will round the shipping charges up to the nearest dollar).
- You can come pick up your salsa from me in Derry, NH.
- I travel around southern New Hampshire quite a bit, so it is likely that I will be in your area within a week or two and can personally deliver your salsa.
- If there is an event we will both be attending, I can bring your salsa to it and personally deliver it to you there.
If you choose option 3 or 4, I'll try to make your salsa as close to the delivery date as possible so it's fresh when you receive it.
I enjoy eating salsa, and long ago I started making my own. I tried numerous recipes and eventually started embellishing them, then creating my own. My Salsacado recipe evolved for a while until I decided I really liked the taste, consistency, and appearance. I brought fresh batches to friends houses and parties and it was always so popular that I thought I would try to make some money from it. I don't anticipate making much - my profit margin is tiny since I'm making such small batches - but I also find it pleasurable to make salsa and have people enjoy it.
I started PiMP My Activism and my friend, Roger, Photoshopped up this picture of my face on Kramer's body from the episode of Seinfeld where Kramer ended up accidentally being arrested for pimping prostitutes. It really has no relation to my salsa, but my friend, Teri, thought it was a great picture - I agreed, so I used it here (with Roger's permission).
